Psychotherapy

My style of therapy is about active connection and discussion.

I draw intuitively from the most helpful clinical tools to help your process of change. I believe relating and engagement in the psychotherapy process are most helpful in exploring and learning where our psyche feels stuck, motivated and yearning to grow.

I see this process as a mutual exploration to safely explore and develop creative pathways for greater wholeness and peace.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is helpful if you find yourself stuck in negative thinking styles. This therapy assists you to reframe negative thoughts into more effective mental habits.   

Dialectical Behavior Therapy 

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) offers a way of managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and using effective mindfulness skills. The emphasis is on acceptance and change which can help you navigate life’s challenges with greater empowerment and clarity.

Chemical Dependency & Recovery

I've worked with hundreds of clients, including recovery programs

and psychiatrists, and possess an intricate knowledge of substance

abuse issues. Creating a safe space to explore active recovery

from addiction and dependency, I offer real life options to manage and emotionally heal the areas underlying this condition. Working with people motivated in active recovery, we explore the multiple ways of reclaiming ourselves, including Twelve Step Programs, Dharma Recovery, SMART Recovery and other options.

Obesity & Bariatric Psychology

The psychology of obesity is a highly specialized area requiring distinct understanding of the emotional and clinical challenges. Whether dealing with eating disorder issues or body image issues or starting pre-WLS preparation or struggling with your post-bariatric surgery/procedure, for successful maintenance of goals and outcomes, I accompany clients within the process to explore options for reclaiming health and recovery to live their best life.
